2016-2017 Elementary Handbook

Dear Parents:

Welcome to an exciting school year!  We have been working hard getting all of the rooms ready for our students and I think the building looks great!  Of course it always looks better when it’s filled with eager students.

I want to point out a couple of reminders for the school year.

  • In the morning, students may be dropped off after 7:30am if they wish to participate in the Walking Club in the gym.  If the students misbehave during Walking Club, or try to enter any other parts of the building, they will lose the privilege of coming early to school.  Please do not drop off children any earlier than 7:30.
  • Children who ride the bus, or who do not want to participate in Walking Club may enter the building at 8:05 for breakfast or 8:15 to enter the classrooms.
  • Classes are dismissed at 3:15 (Preschool is dismissed at 1:15).  Parents picking up students after school will pick up at 3:10 before the buses come down from the High School.   Please stay in your vehicle and proceed in a row in  front of the elementary school.   Bus students will be dismissed at 3:15
  • We are able to accommodate requests for children to ride a bus other than their scheduled route, as long as the request is provided in writing at the beginning of the school day.  Only in emergency situations or due to unforeseen circumstances will phone calls requests be honored.

Thank you for your help with these guidelines.  Eliminating beginning and end of day interruptions will help to ensure that instructional time is spent on providing a quality educational program to all students.  More information on Northeast Elementary rules can be found in our handbook on this page.
