The middle school and high school wrapped up their food drive on Friday, and today we got the final total. Student Council set out with a goal to raise 2,000 pounds of food. They TRIPPLED their goal by raising 6,677 (6-7!!) pounds of food!!! Special recognition was given to sophomore Caleb Jackson who brought in close to 300 POUNDS of food himself! The 6th grade was recognized for their contribution for the penny wars which they won with 1,143 points!!
The top five contributing WINNs (in terms of weight of food) were Mrs. Shannon (1,052), Mrs. Pataska, Mr. Alger (1,021) , Mrs. Hansen, and Mr. Sipes (506).
Mr. Sipes' WINN won the Kahoot to become the reigning WINN. for the food drive!

On Tuesday, Northeast Middle and High School held a Veterans Day assembly to honor the brave men, and women who have fought for our country. This years speaker was Jon Aytes, who is a Marine veteran who served on active duty for over 30 years. Jon went to flight school in Pensacola, getting his flight officer wings, before flying with active duty squadrons including off of an aircraft carrier. Several other tours of duty followed, so he and his family moved all over the US and overseas to Germany. Jon graduated from the US Naval Academy, and the Colorado School of Mines. He and his wife, Lisa, completed move number 16 , and now that they are in Iowa.

Stop out this weekend and support our exceptionally talented students in their production of Hadestown. This ancient story finds a new life in Goose Lake, Iowa. This is an impressive production by a cast who bring the characters to life with their unique expressions and vocal talents. All pictures were captured by junior Emery Wells, a Northeast media student.
Show times are Friday at 7:00 PM, Sunday at 7:00 PM, and Sunday at 2:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased on Bound.

💙 Thank You, Northeast Community! 💙
We are so grateful for your support in passing the bond! Your belief in our students, staff, and school means the world to us. Thanks to you, our students will have safe, welcoming spaces where they can learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
This bond isn’t just an investment in buildings — it’s an investment in our students and the future of our community.

Northeast Middle and High School just kicked off their food drive . Northeast will be competing against Dewitt and Cal-Wheat for who can bring in the most "weight" of food donations per student. The food drive will go from the 4th until the 20th of this month. All food donations will go to the Elvira Food Pantry, meaning all donations will stay within our community. Northeast did win this competition last year, and Mrs. Shannon's 6th grade WINN did bring in the most weight of food. Let's go back to back Rebels!
